Just bought a 3 set of front covers from Tesco, unfortunatly I've bought the ones for the 300/500 i did not relize there was a difference i.e I can't seem to remove the cradle release button on the classic so I can put the new face on. Is there any way of doing this because i've opened up the pack now so i can't return them. ? Any ideas if it's possible to get a scratch of the screen, I was thinking of that paste you get for glass and rub hard but i'm thinking doing this on this screen might not be good.

You'll need to take the unit apart, remove the catch and cut the front button off, alternatively you'll need a 3/5/700 range catch to replace the Classic one (they are interchangable). You'll also need to cut the bits off the catches on the bezels to make them fit the Classic.

scratches in Glass can normally be repaired with that (or with toothpaste). But you have a touch screen on top of the glass, and the paste will damage the touchscreen. Scratches cannot be repaired. You will have to replace the display if they are unbearable (are they?)
