Well I don't know what your TT1 looks like, but mine certainly has a headphone socket. I just plug in the phone's from my iPod and it works just fine.

What sort of headset are you looking for? As far as I can tell any old 'phones will do. The impedence of the 'phones you choose will affect the volume, but if you get a set with an in-line volume control that won't be a problem. The one's I use are Sennheiser MX500. These are ear buds rather than a head set, but use whatever you want.
