StreetPilot III - update to CN8 or not?

Hi from the Dinosaur Club!

I have been getting contradictory information from several "experts" so I figured that here is the horse's mouth.

Garmin are trying to sell me the latest u/grade to City Navigator 8 while telling me that the new post code support won't work on my unit. They also tell me that they "think" the Speed Camera POI info won't be compatible either.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the situation actually is on both of these points, please?

It seems to me that if all I get for my 50-odd quid is a slightly updated map it's hardly worth the bother and it might even be worthwhile shelling out for an i3!

I dont think post code support will work on an SP3, the firmware is not set up for it. I dont think cameras will work, as the SP3 can only handle 500 waypoints in its database?

What version of map do you have now? Presumably quite an old one on an SP3?

Debateable whether you want an I3. The think I disliked about the SPIII was its big size and weight, its like having a boulder on the dashboard, but it does have a good screen size. I got fed up of uploading maps too, and the slow routing time. Data input is similar on both, although you do get the benefit of postcodes on the I3. Personally, I would put the SPIII on ebay and buy and I3.
