Hi,
My Mio seems to be no longer holding it's charge, also the charging connector is not making good contact and is often not charging even when you think it is.
Can I replace the battery myself?
Where can I get the connection repaired economically?
Might it be better to replace it?
Advice please. _________________ Leigh

Problems with the connector are well known. However, since the connector has turned out to be rather more fragile than it should be, apparently MIO have been rather more obliging with repair under warranty (the std 12 months is not strictly applied).
I would suggest that your first contact should be with the supplier. |

Neil,
many thanks for fast response. I am interested to hear that I am probably not alone in having connector problems, and will contact the supplier.
Any ideas about the battery? _________________ Leigh

I think you'll find it has a two year guarantee.
My mate recently had the same problem. He contacted GlobalPositioningSystems, where he bought it, and they sent a 'jiffy' bag to send it for repair. He got it back in, I think, 4 days.
It appears they changed the whole board as when he re-installed TomTom the device code had changed and he had to re-activate the maps.
I did find a site which supplies replacement batteries. I'll see if I can find it again.
The only problem if you do it yourself is it invalidates your guarantee. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Batteries are available from Easydevices.co.uk.
I've just checked price and it's £23.50 plus delivery.
Same price whether you subscribe to PocketGPSW or not. So much for a discount. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
