Hi all. There's still not a huge amount of information about this handset on the Internet yet and I'm still waiting for a decent review of it. However, in the mean time can some please answer these questions:

1. Does the handset work well with TomTom Navigator 5 (also interested if anyone knows if it works well with Navigator 3).
2. How does it handle a call when you are using GPS navigation?
3. Are there any reviews of the Mio Map v2.0 software and possibly screen shots of what it looks like (can't find any reviews or any information on this at all).
4. What's the battery life in real use terms.
5. Calling quality?
6. Is it the same Operating System as on a normal WM5 PDA or is it slightly stripped down?
7. Does it allow full screen movie playing?
8. Has it got a built in speaker?
9. Seems as though it has a standard 3.5mm audio jack on the side, can this be confirmed?

Can't think of anything else for now but will ask if it comes to mind. Thanks in advance.

1. Does the handset work well with TomTom Navigator 5 (also interested if anyone knows if it works well with Navigator 3).
Yes, TomTom 5 works perfectly. It's easy to use the touch screen with your finger when it's in the cradle.
2. How does it handle a call when you are using GPS navigation?
I've only tested this with a Bluetooth headset. The directions come from the built-in loudspeaker; when a call is answered the speaker mutes and the call is directed to the headset
3. Are there any reviews of the Mio Map v2.0 software and possibly screen shots of what it looks like (can't find any reviews or any information on this at all).

4. What's the battery life in real use terms.
2 x 30 minute journeys using TomTom and around 30 minutes of calls and the battery indicator was down to half.
5. Calling quality?
As good as any mobile phone I've used.
6. Is it the same Operating System as on a normal WM5 PDA or is it slightly stripped down?
Don't know for sure.
7. Does it allow full screen movie playing?
Haven't tested yet - that's this weekend's job!
8. Has it got a built in speaker?
Yes. Could do with being a touch louder, but you can hear it ok.
9. Seems as though it has a standard 3.5mm audio jack on the side, can this be confirmed?
No. It comes with headphones, but your standard iPod type won't fit.

Thank you for the excellent replies. I think this phone is definitely for me as I don't really need wireless and if I do then I'm content with an SDIO Wireless card. Speaking of which, which card do you use which definitely works well with the phone?

Also, does the movie playing have good position seeking within a movie i.e. does it allow you to jump to a specific point in a movie clip or at the very least provide a fast forward system? Thanks again.

It standard Windows Media player 10 mobile, so that side of things is pretty crap. It does do full screen video though. You can install any movie player that will work on WM65 though, so it shouldn't be a problem. I would doubt the battery life will be fantastic whilst watching video though.

Has anyone else had people complaining about background noise when you call them? I have had some people mention it.

Last night someone asked me to text them a number from my contacts list and I can't figure out how to do this? It used to be simple on a Nokia phone, is it possible on here without copy/pasting the number into an SMS.

One other thing..... It said in all the blurb before the phone was released that it had 192MB of on board storage memory. In the settings on mine it says Storage total 65.32MB, Program total 53.54MB (118MB in all)? Is this right? I am guessing some is taken up by ROM which we have no access to maybe.

Apart from that, pretty happy with the Mio apart from not getting GPS Tuner to work with it.

I'm really trying to get my head round this folks, so bear wtih me if I take it back to an even more simplistic point of information.

I'm really tempted to get one of these so that I can subscibe to Traffic and run it without having too much technical hassle. I presume this would be a doddle - even for someone like me who's been running TT5 until now on a Mio 168, so has never had the means or experience of hooking up to Traffic?

Yes, it is very easy. TomTom automatically detects that the phone is the same device, so there is no set up needed apart from username and password. It helped me avoid big delays on the M40 this evening so I'll definitely be subscribing when my 1 month trial is up.
