Use http://www.streetmap.co.uk with the postcode (say) of your local Sainsbury. Then click on its exact location, so the orange arrow points to it. Go all the way down to the bottom of the webpage and click on the word "here" in the sentence "Click here to convert/measure coordinates". This will give you a new webpage with a variety of coordinates. Copy (cut and paste, or retype!) the longitude and latitude into a new row on the Excel spreadsheet, just like the others you find there. Save the spreadsheet as a .csv file, and copy it into the folder from which you download all the .csv and .bmp files to the i3.

better still is to click so the arrow points to the road that goes into the car park otherwise the i3 can get confused as to exactly where it's going
cheers

I'm a complete newbie to all this but have picked up some gems of information from this site, so firstly thanks to all contributors.
Have managed to get all POI's from MaFt's site much appreciated and have also subscribed and uploaded the speed cameras database. I now also know how to amend or create new custom POI's but should I need to upload these I am not sure if I will inadvertently overwrite what is already in the custom folder on the Garmin i3.
So my question (which may seem very basic) is when I come to upload the new POI's does it rewrite over the complete custom POI's on the i3 or does it add them individually...... or to put it another way do i upload the entire set of POI's old ones including my new ones in the same folder or only the ones which are new.
Hope that makes sense.
Much appreciated. |

klingon - you need to upload ALL poi's at the same time as the poiloader software removes everything before uploading.

The uploaded POIs will overwrite the existing ones on your i3. Best bet is keep MaFts POIs and speed camera database in the same file on your PC . |
