Hi,
I have an iCN 630 with SmartST 2005 and the latest maps.
Has anyone tried the full postcode software on the 6 series and does it work
Cheers

I bought a set of postcodes, I have a Sony NVX P1 which is Nvaman 650 underneath, the files are as POIs so do not intgerate into the software. I now have 13Mb of postcodes files, they are readabale by the desktop software but issues trying to load, there is some advice on how to overcome which seems sound but it would mean having 20 + poi files for diferent regions and this seems to be too crude for me, there is room on the hard disk of the Sony but suspect not worth the effort, may try just one region as an experiment if bored.
Cost £4.45 on ebay, note others charging more, and was sent files by email |

Good question, there are quite a few people doing it on Ebay I assumed, probably wrongly, that the seller had (legal/paid for) access to the postcode database Post Office do sell to commercial users and others, all call centres, polici etc have postcodes on their systems, and then configured it for GPS, no (c) notice on the files.
Austrlia I beleive has freely avaiable postcodes files as these are considered public property |
