The Official PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera Database
The official PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera Database is available for free with both monthly and yearly subscription.
THE POCKETGPSWORLD.COM DATABASE - THE FIRST COMPREHENSIVE ONE OF ITS KIND - IS WIDELY REGARDED AS THE MOST USED, MOST TRUSTED AND BEST AVAILABLE IN THE UK- we have been informed by several Directors of SatNav related companies that our product is the one that they use personally in their cars. All tell us that others cannot compete for volume and accuracy.
Is the Speed Camera Warnings Software Legal?
Absolutely, yes! The Road Safety Bill 2005 states that speed camera databases (but specifically not radar devices which they are hoping to ban) "compliment the Government's policy to ensure that camera sites are visible and conspicuous to drivers".
The official Government line is that most fixed cameras are installed at accident 'black spots' where four or more serious road accidents have occurred over a three year period. It is the joint policy of both the UK Department for Transport and the police to make the locations of these cameras as well known as possible.
The Speed Camera Database (which also includes traffic light camera warnings) adds to this process by helping you to identify the places where extra care should be taken. Not only do we receive additions and modifications from police forces, but we are also reliably informed that police officers 'unofficially' use our database.
Officers are often treated more harshly when caught, especially by their superiors, so it is in their interest to be extra careful!
In a survey of young drivers (source: fmg.org.uk), respondents perceived 'lack of attention' to be the most likely reason for a serious accident. 'Going too fast' came second. The Database aims to help with both.

Sorry...posted this somewhere else as well on this site but can't remember where !
Two questions here, rather than start a new thread.
1. Monthly is calendar, or from the date you paid ?
2. Monthly will be updated when, on the 1st, 5th, 20th or when ? |

1. Monthly is from the date you pay, if you pay on the 5th, your subscription expires on the 5th of the following month.
2. Currently at the end of the month but we're working on making the updates 'on the fly' so that you can download whenever you choose and get the very latest version available at that time. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Sounds like a cookie issue. Logout of the forums then log back in and retry. The buttons are there and working as verified by the subscribers who have completed the process. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Tried that. Didn't work. Checked that my version of Zone Alarm was not blocking cookies. Logged out again. Logged in. Still get no buttons.
I can't imagine it is a cookie problem as the site always remembers me when I visit it. _________________ - - - - - - - - -

Would going to www.nochex.co.uk and clicking on the pay link there be any good? The address to send it to would be accounts@pocketgpsworld.com. That said, is the Nochex button linked to a download site?

PayPal payment is not yet operational, sorry. However you can pay using Nochex without having to have a Nochex account. _________________ Darren Griffin |
