Any solution for GM 270"unrecognized card" problem

Wow, this is infuriating...

I have been using the Holux GM 270 in conjunction with an HP Ipaq hx2415 running Windows Mobile 2003 for the past 2 months. Tom Tom Navigator 5 and the Holux were an awesome combination and trouble free until today. I inserted the Holux and the "unrecognized card" error appears. Previously, when I ran the GPSviewer scan, COM4 would be the one I would end up selecting. Now it shows "none" or "open failed" for everything. I tried resetting a couple of times with the Holux removed but to no avail. I also resorted to a hard reset, but this did not help. I use this combination every day in my job, so this is quite a problem (hence me posting at 2:30 am EST). I searched the CF troubleshooting thread, but could not find an answer there. Does anyone have a fix?
