It is a standard mini USB power cable. If you search the forums I believe there is a mobile phone charger lead that will fit?
I have a cigarette lead charger for a Palm Handheld PC that does the trick.
DO NOT connect direct to the cars 12V supply!!!
Keep your eyes open in somewhere like Maplin - remember you need to have a lead that gives you 5v the same as the USB from your PC.
Hope this helps...

Lead for a Motorola V3 works, wife came home with the i3 plugged into that a week ago, we've got quite a few charging cables in the car for various phones etc, she just picked the one that fitted. V3 is mini USB, same as the i3 so it stands to reason.

Only thing is the pukka V3 car lead I have means the coiled cable is quite tight reaching from the fag lighter to the windscreen (Mk4 Golf) and the mini USB plug is straight not bent back by 90 degrees.

Does this mean that the big black lump of plastic has a 12~5v converter in it? I am asking as I am looking at hard wireing the unit into the car electrics.

Any hep will be great.

Also, any one know of a car mount with a smaller base that will fit the i3.

Cheers, so its off to the shops for a female socket, then hard wire some tails. I can then have it switched on all the time I am driving. How did I ever find my way to work without my new toy?

wish that either I had been a copper (search forum) or known that replacement was available when my V8 when tits up, its now replaced with a V7, not too much differance, but enough to make me want V8.
And no, turn arround through Garmin is no good if you use it everyday.

There's always those people, ain't there - PTSL at other people. Some would comment that their pathos obviously hasn't evolved from the playground - well some would, but I couldn't possibly...

How's your i3? ;-)
