Mr_Gonzales made me an excellent mount for the i3 in SSteel. Clamps on the handlebars of my Fazer and i3 is perfectly held...

If anyone's interested, I'll post a pic of it in use.

Great job and well worth £20.

I emailed RAM mount before and they don't do one for i3...

Hi there,

Can you post/send me a pic and who is this 'Mr_Gonzales' please?

I'm also considering one of these units and will be wanting to put it on my Fazer too.

TIA

:D

Here are a couple of pictures of the mount. You can find Mr_Gonzales if you go on private messages and find username, then PM him.

It is stainless steel. Works well. Just remember to put i3 in a freezer bag or something in case it rains...

Thanks for posting this! I got one from him for my Suzuki GS500. The GS500 has a very narrow piece of usable handlebar, so the one you show in your pics would be too big for my bike, but he custom-made one to fit the space available, meaning I now have an i3 mounted on my bike. £20 well spent! Thank you! :D

Shameless, I know... and hoping that this isn't against forum policy... units are now on ebay if anyone is looking:

I can vouch for this product - Mr_Gonzales made one for me to fit to my fazer and it works a treat.

Well pleased.

How far apart are the bolt-holes of the standard handlebar version? Would the top half fit onto a Ram mount like this?
http://www.gpsw.co.uk/details/prod2063.html

The reason is that I want to mount my i3 onto an arm that fits just in front of the fuel tank. Many Honda riders fix the Ram mount (minus U bolt) to the two bolts that hold on the tank. They are just between the tank and the handl bars, so it's a neat way of holding the Sat Nav steady and clearly in view.

Hi all,

just popped across from the Garmin forum,

i used the original mount that came with i3 to mount on the bike, simply drilled a hole in the suction cup and bolted through where the screen bolts live, works a treat, i also installed a jack plug socket so as i can plug the i3 into my lid, works fantastically!

Cheers all
- if anyone needs advive on jack plug dont hesitate to contact! 8)

Mr_Gonzales now also does a mount that fixes where the fuel tank bolts to the frame, just between the tank and the headstock. (Certainly works on Hondas; can't speak for other makes.)

Picture available from here: http://www.xrv.org.uk/getimage.php?id=1827

Quality kit made from stainless steel and you can specify exact dimensions etc. Seller's id on eBay is claire4743
