I think you might have to add the full Garmin Europe address ie

i2/i3 Update
Freepost Garmin
Garmin (Europe) Ltd.
Unit 5, The Quadrangle
Abbey Park Industrial Estate
Romsey, Hampshire
SO51 9DL, UK

Also I was told to wait a couple of weeks before sending my card to them. I suppose they expect to be quite busy!

no, just put: Freepost GARMIN

from royal mail site: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/sme/jump2?catId=14400230&mediaId=14400237

"Freepost NAME is the simplest form of return address: Freepost and your company's name in capital letters, for example, Freepost SMITHSON'S. This can be pre-printed by you but is normally handwritten by your customers, on an envelope or card."

No Just:

I2/I3 Update
Freepost Garmin

Enclose

1) an envelope with your home address (but no need for a stamp) and
2) the sd card.

I would put your home address small on the back of the envelpope too.

Also Note for c310 owners I was told

c310 upgrade
Freepost Garmin.

Call me old fashioned but I'd feel safer adding the SO51 9DL postcode too! Don't wanna lose your card! Confused

you can be even safer by taking the letter to the post office and asking for a 'certificate of posting'...its works on 'stamped ' letters and should work for freepost stuff....if the po dont do it for freepost stuff, just stick a 30p stamp on it..its worth that for proof of posting..

or for 65p you can get it 'recorded signed for' with online tracking... however, compensation for 'proof of posting' is £zero, signed for is £30 and the best bet is for £3.85 special delivery with compensation up to £500

Does anyone know whether it is possible to buy a new empty flash card, copy the V7 card contents to the new card and then use the new card in the I3 while the original V7 card is being upgraded to V8? Both cards would presumably be locked to my I3 but that would be ok.

Thanks

If that is possible that sounds like a great idea.

Anyone know?

Will do.

By the way Royal Mail site says my delivery was successfully delivered by Nottingham office yesterday. A bit confused cos Garmin is in Hampshire, probably a contractor doing the upgrades or something.

which is why i suggested just using the 'freepost garmin' address and not to assume head office will be doing it ;)
