Well frankly we can't have it all, i'd be happy with the a701, I can add extra small SD Wi-Fi card if I need it Wink

But man ... good looking PDA phone with GPS and smaller that the Eten G500 or the HP 6915 etc ... I am in !

By thw way, I am not that familiar with mio products, anyone can share their experience about the quality the build the software the bugs etc ... does it feel cheap in the hand etc ... thanks

Cheers,

Yeah looks fab. I'm new on here but used Mio for a while and never had a problem. Build quality is very good usually. Seems like March is confirmed. Probably in time for CEBIT.

Alright, thanks for you input on mio products... I never used them and I was curious to know the build quality. How about support?

Actually i've never had to use Mio support, but the site where i've bought my mio products from have a good support system via email, quick response to my emails and helpful. Here's the link if want to have a look:

Hi Mamadou, just read the article ( in Italian, of course :D ) and as far as I can see, there is only one snug.....the price. The basic model is £ 420.

Well, I thingk for the looks and the functionalities, especially GPS, it is a cheaper than the O2 XDA Atom for example (Wi-Fi's the difference though).

What's Mio mapping like? I think I read that it's ok but not the best, in particular does not accept 7-digit UK postcodes.

Miomap is a version of Navigon as far as I know. It doesn't accept full postcodes in the UK.

Hi! I've used both mio map v2 and tom tom navigator 5, and personally the mio map is overall is the better software.
Tom Tom Nav 5 is good when it comes to setting up a navigation, it's quick and simply but I found when it comes to actually navigating its not very acturate.
For example the mio map will tell you which lane you need to be in whereas tom tom nav 5 doesn't. also the tom tom tends to get distorientated.
Visually and graphically the mio map v2 is also better and the maps seem to be alot more detailed.
I originally had a tom tom go 300, but I wasnt happy with it so tried the mio 168 with mio map v2 and its been a solid reliable peice of software.

Anyone getting the Mio A701 then?

I expect I'll get one too, if available subsidised on a contract and nothing better comes along in the meantime. I do wish they'd implement 7-digit postcode though.
