Hi Guys;

I travelled from:

1st Part) Windsor to Dover Eastern Doc, Using Great-Britain Map, no problems at all;

2nd Part) Arrived in Calais and switched to the French Map, destination, Disneyland, again no problems at all, apart from my drive!!

3rd Part) From Disneyland to Epernay, TT5 started to close itself around every 10 minutes, I tried resetting the device, changing maps, the lot, but no joy.

4th Part) Epernay to Reims - Again TT5 was crashing;

5th Part) Reims to Lily - No problems;

6th Part) Lily to Calais - No problems again!!

7th Part) Dover to Windsor – Switched back to the Great Britain Map No problems Again!!

Is it possible that my map is corrupted in that region?

Is there another explanation for it?

While TT5 was working, the map was very accurate, no discrepancies from map and the actual roads.

Strange.

Thanks for your help

Lucio

Hi luciogodoy
I have driven in France on quite a few occasions and like you I was quite impressed with Tomtom’s accuracy and performance. However, I haven’t driven along that actual route where you had your bit of trouble and so I myself can’t give you an answer to the problems that you have described. But with luck someone on this forum will have driven along that particular section and will give an account of their experience over that route. Things will then be a little clearer and maybe clues found that shed light on the matter. Lets hope so.

Try uninstalling/deleting the French map from your SD Card.

Install the France Plus map using a card reader, rather than by activsync. It's faster and less chance of any 'hiccups'.

Next time you travel to France select the France plus map and set your route.

TomTom will use the Major Roads of Europe, in GB, to get you to France and on arrival in France the France Street level will take over.
