HI

Had this for a month now (purchased it here). System is excellent - just getting uses to it at the moment.

Anyone help with a few of queries.

1. The HP 2215 for some unexplaind reason went back to its as new setings. Any idea why this happened - I suspect it was the battery draining away for some reason - and is there any way of getting the lost data back.

2. Is the GPS reciever supposed to turn itself off after a set time and how can I find the battery status.

3. A nav system is only as good as the maps. How do I keep the GB map uptodate.

4. Are TomTom going to includea postcode search (to me the only ommission) in future releases.

5. At switch can I make the map start at my home or actual GPS location.

Thanks in advance

1. Yes, make sure you use the Pocket Backup as supplied with the 2215. If you back up to a storage card or PC, you'll need anything from 16mb to 64mb, but you'll be able to restore if you lose battery power.

2. No. Depends which one you have, if it's the BT GPS, then you may have low power (signified by and orange/red light on the GPS). If it's the cabled mouse, then it will remain on all the time it has power.

3. Map updates only appear with TomTom when they release the next new product (probably will be around May 2004).

4. Not for GB, poss for future versions, time will tell

5. Yes, you can use the SET GPS location here button.
