I cant get tom tom 5 to see my generic bt reciever on an xda exec. The reciever seems to think its connected but it doesnt come up in the devices in tom tom.
I have tried selecting different com ports but none are recognised.
Thanks

you can only use COM0, COM4 or COM8
Best you stay with COM8. Make sure your receiver is connected to the Outgoing port COM8 and that the connection is not secure.
Also make sure your receiver sends NMEA - TomTom 5 doesn't understand SiRF _________________ Lutz

you need to exit and restart TomTom for that to stick. Best if you do a soft reset.
Can other GPS programs see the receiver? Did you by any chance enable that stupid Microsoft GPS applet? _________________ Lutz

Got it working now, I had to enable the applet, select software and hardware ports select the port in tomtom exit then switch them and it worked. |
