I had a day trip to Gloucester over the weekend with my trusty TTG500 at my side. However this time it failed me. Using Natvigate to.. City Centre...Gloucester, it took me to a little farm outside Cranham! I'm using version 5.202 and map v571. Is the problem me or my TTG?

Thanks!

Have you reported it using the map errors form on the TomTom site - it won't get fixed if you don't. (it probably won't get fixed anyway, but I think we should try)

Weird. It works fine on my GO Classic.

It pinpoints the centre just off the A430 Bruton Way on the B4063 London Road.

Not knowing that area I would assume its correct as its very near the main railway station.

I've got:

Version 5.420 (5643)
GPS V1.21
BOOT 3.30
MAP Great Britain v390

The route was calculated from Chesham, Bucks to Gloucester City Centre

Anyone else ??

I guess this shows that you're always best using 'Browse on map' then Find City Centre and if it looks right select the blue icon and 'Navigate to'.

Maybe the farm owner is a sponsor of the TomTom maps and is offering B&B to tired drivers.

My 700 with v568 maps offers me THREE different Gloucester City centres to choose from!! 8O Rolling Eyes

All are listed as Gloucester (Gloucester).

First option takes me to Cranham...
Second option takes me to London Rd/Bruton Way/Black Dog Way in Gloucester.
Third option takes me to the end of an unnamed road on the River Severn near Tewkesbury.

Oh dear!!!!!!!

Mine also shows Gloucester City Centre as "Mill Lane" (Go700) (V605Map) But if you check this with autoroute "Mill Lane" is to the left of the A46 of Gloucester in fact it is actually in "Stroud" and is no where near the city centre Looks like a big cock up me thinks Rolling Eyes 8)

As city centre's are nearly always going by where the cathedral/church/minster, is situated, the centre of Gloucester is your second option .

London Rd./Bruton Way/Black Dog Way, is the city centre ring road.

The Street you need is ' College Street'

The post code is " GL1 2NE "

I've tried to report it, but the Tomtom website is rubbish. I'll try again later.

Whilst I was there I did try some other things...

Tried City Centre postcode GL1 (Gloucester)...says I'm there already (Cranham)
Tried Address, City Gloucester and Gloucester (Stroud) and they all point to this place.
In the end I had to browse the map and point it to the city myself.

BTW I did check the Route Summary before I started, and from Birmingham it does look like it's going to the right place...the checkered flag covers the fact that it's on the wrong side of the M5. I was surprised when the TTG said to go straight on when all the sign posts said to turn...I thought TTG had a shortcut!
