|
|
Hi,
Hope someone can help me here.
I am using a MIOA201 with TTN5.1 and using the Pocket GPS Safety Camera warning software and it and it all runs great.
Thanks Pocket GPS for some great s/w and a great site.
I have just started capturing cameras using the Pocket GPS POICapture software and am capturing all cameras I come across to help increase the accuracy and verify correct positioning, type speed etc against the main downloaded dbase.
I have notived that once I have captured a camera it then leaves a yellow Gatso type Icon on the map display which shows every time I use the same route. This is in addition to the exisitng Mobile Icon that was there from the DBase download.
1) Is this correct that it does this and if so will it be removed when the Dbase gets updated with my captured data.
2) If its not correct anybnody any clues as to what I might have done wrong.
I downloaded the latest December camera position DBase at the same time as the POICapture software, so both were being used for the first time when I starterd to capture camera locations and wondered if the new dbase could be causing this.
3) Also if I want to look at the data captured how do I do this, where is the file of captured data saved and can it be opened for viewing?
Thanks

It is correct. It is stored in the .ov2 file created in your TomTom map directory. They will remain on your screen for as long as the file remains there. So if you delete the file after emailing it to PGPSW, the icons will disappear. _________________ Tim |

Sorry to be dense, but does that mean that the POI Capture programme is not usable as an editing tool for the data base but merely records a list of amended entries that have to be incorporated in the database by someone else? I had hoped that I could correct my database myself as well as share my findings with others. Is that not the case? |

Yes and No.
Yes it is designed purely as a Recording Device.
No it was not meant to work like that. The data collected would be verified and then incorporated into the next monthly Database download. You would be sharing with others.
If you did it as p2p sharing then there would be no verification and basically it would be a mess. _________________ Richard
