I've been speaking with Jo (GPS Assist author) and Jo is currently in the middle of changing jobs and doesn't have much time for additional development work on GPS Assist, and also with the lack of time, support issues may not be addressed as quickly as normal.

Jo says, "I'm still planning to create a brand new version on the CE.NET platform now that the market to the US has been opened". Do bear in mind that Jo's time is currently limited, so don't expect something soon.

Thanks for the information Dave - BUT - and there HAS to be a BUT - I really do think that Jo should have had the courtesy to post something to tell us. We ALL have jobs and are busy people AND I hope we understand when those amongst us have problems and issues. The fact remains however that by selling GPS Assist Jo IS running a business, is happy to take our dosh and therefore has a responsibility to support the product. Not good enough I'm afraid Jo - you were keen enough to support it when you were starting off!!!

Ok I fully understand obviously very busy and can't get around to putting right a bum product.

So until you have the time, Jo, how about refunding my money! Any other product supplier in this country would be hauled over the coals for selling something that is not fit for the purpose intended.

I have been in contact with Jo via e-mail reguarding the various problems that I have running GPS assist on an ipaq2210 with ppc2003. Jo has told me he can do nothing untill he can get a PPC2003 upgrade which will not be untill October.

I do agree with the other posts. We all work and if GPS Assist was freeware, then you could accept that it might take some time to sort out any problems. However as far as I am concerned, it is a comercial product that I paid good money for. I'm not completly having a go at Jo, as the support via e-mail has been good, but I would rather the problems were sorted out now.

If that is the case why don,t Promosoft issue an explanetory note stating the facts about the upgrade. Is it plausible that they are waiting for an upgrade? and if so who from?

Graham,

It is very possible, if not totally probable. HP are very slow at producing and delivering the PPC 2003 upgrades.

Mike,

I agree but, I purchased my product afterTTN2 was issued. Promosoft knew it would not interface properly with TTN2 so why did they supply it? They also must have known the problems with the PPC2003 upgrades.

Thats my gripe, it is not as though I bought it for TTN1 then upgraded to TTN2, that would have been my problem, but to sell a product knowing it will not perform properly is just a little annoying.

Agreed, i wouldnt have minded half as much if someone had told us, but theres **nothing** on their website.

OK, its not a fortune in money folks, its the principal as far as im concerned. Doesnt take a lot of effort to post a message.

We paid for this software, as did probably 100's even 1000's of other people.Thats quite a sum...

I trust that when the new version does eventually get released, we will all get life long free upgrades????

Totally agree Cornz. Free upgrades? That would be something! If the next upgrade trakes as long as this one I could be communicating from way beyond earth.
