Here's a little note i have sent to the powers that be ..what do you guys think cause there is a very anoyed person here.
Hello, I am finding your customer support very poor as you do not seem to want to reply to emails already sent to you which you seem to prefer to ignore, may I say that I have changed from GARMIN to your product as it was sugested that it was superior to Garmin. I find this NOT SO as i bought my TOMTOM 700 with totally out of date mapping,.. for example - there are roads in my area that have been there for 2 years and are not on the tomtom. I bought this unit all in good faith on 9/11/05 with V568 mapping - I appreciate that maping cant be kept up to date all the time because new roads are always being built but two years out of date is a bit off putting to say the least, and even if I go ahead and spend money on new updates there is no guarantee that the roads that should have been on V568 would still no be on it.....now it looks like if I want to update the mapping its going to cost me a further fortune making this a VERY expensive unit with no gaurantee of the missing roads that should have already been there in the first place may still not be  ....I await your reply. And will GARMIN "Guarantee" that the roads your on about are on THEIR maps??
Do you know what is involved in producing GPS maps. Somehow i don't think you do.

| Ok fair comment BUT yes some of the now missing roads on my tomtom WERE on the garmin although it was navtec mapping..please note i am not "nit picking here or trying to score points" i am simply stating a fact. |

Yes, but only if you unlocked an older version after the release of a newer version. I've quoted the relevant paragraph below, and the full FAQ can be read here.
