BT GPS W/ Google Maps?

I've been having trouble finding successful attempts to use BT receivers with Google Maps - mainly due to the port error (Google Maps Mobile not recognizing a BT device is paired).
Is there a practical solution for this or is Google Maps not really ready for Bluetooth gps? I've read some anecdotal reports of certain specific receivers working just fine, but they are sporadic enough to be of concern. I'm currently using a Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard), but will probably switch to the TyTn version as soon as we get high speed data locally. I'm strongly leaning toward the Globalsat BT359...
