Crying or Very sad How long should it take to start receiving a signal with my TTN5 linked to my Acer X50. It can take anything from 5 minutes (rarely) to over 50 minutes. Once it has picked up a signal it works like a dream. I presently use a mobile receiver linked by bluetooth, but I also have a hard wire arial but gave up on that because that also took forever to get a signal. Any ideas anyone?

Allow your receiver to get a fix BEFORE you start TTN. What you experience is very common with (unsupported) built in receivers, but can also happen with BT.

You need to wait until the GPS unit is seeing a signal, this is usually displayed on the LED segments fitted into the GPS unit itself, once this is signaling it has a signal then fire up the TomTom application - Happy Christmas Mike

The Mio doesn't have an indicator. Just flip the antenna out and wait two to five minutes. You can use WinFast or another monitoring tool to understand if it has a fix yet.

Don't forget that the power cord will only fit one way, and you must squeeze the two buttons on either side of the plug to insert/remove the cord.
