Has any one tried a 1 gig card in these, as I have seen a few posts saying earlier MD95900 can't read a 1 gig card.

Yes it does work, I bought one of these 96800 and bought a 1gb viking SD card from Amazon for about £35.
Now I am going to try tom tom on it as I have maps for europe etc.
That will be fun but apparently it does work when you have figured out the windows CE part.
