Garmin Foretrex 100 from UK or USA

Please can someone tell me if there is any difference between a Foretrex purchased in the UK to one purchased in America. Units from America seem to be 50% cheaper.

The 101 uses AAA batteries so mains connectors and battery charger supply voltages should not be an issue.

I am pretty much decided on the Foretrex 101, I would also welcome advice from anyone who has experience of both the Foretrex and the Forerunner series.
