No, nothing as complicated as that. Every new version has ALL the cameras.
So just copy the new version in the same way as you did before and (so long as you haven't changed the name), it should just overwrite the old file or files with the new ones. |

Did you download the 'Single File' version of the database? _________________ Darren Griffin |

|
|
I've just downloaded the folder from the website and then downloaded the whole folder onto my Tomtom GO 910.
I now realise I sholdn't have done this, so I suppose I should delete the folder from my TomTom and unzip the files on my PC and then download them.
the trouble is:
(a) I'm not sure which folder I should be deleting from the Tomtom, and
(b) I can't find the files in my PC because they just downloaded automatically somewhere and I can't search for them because I don't know what they're called.
Sorry, I know this may seem really stupid but I need a bit of help!
I'd also be grateful for some even easier to understand instructions than the ones on the website which, believe me, look very daunting and aren't easy to understand if you're as computer-challenged as I am.
thanx

Roger
1st. I see you posted your email. A moderator will probably remove that soon. Bad idea as Spammers pick up on such things. Anyway, back to the problems you have.....

You just downloaded what folder exactly? From which website?
I guess you mean you downloaded the Zip file database from this website as you go on to suggest deletion & unzipping.
CORRECT. You DO NOT want the pgps zip file on your 910.
CORRECT. You DO need the files extracting from this zip file onto your PC.
They are called pocketgps_uk_.........zip depending on which version you downloaded.
Before you do anything else, please post 2 bits of info for us.
1. Which database do you want to install?
Single - big file with all the cameras in it
Consolidated - cameras grouped by type i.e. all gatso in one file, all mobile in another
Zoned - grouped by TYPE as Consolidated, but further grouped by SPEED i.e. Gatso30, Mobile 30, Specs30 and so on.....
2. Which method -
using TomTom HOME
manual install by copy/paste or drag & drop
The installation instructions are quite clear but I have no problem going thru them with you if it gives you confidence to play with PC's.
Before you do anything tho' I recommend making a backup of your 910.
Use TT HOME if you wish, but I'd still drag & drop into a new folder on your PC as well. There is a link to this procedure but I'll let you reply before sending you to How-To-Land.....
regards

hiya, great site. recommended by a friend and subscribed straight away
I have a Garmin Nuvi 310. It is a company issued sat nav that I received a month ago but the speed cameras loaded were out of date and loaded incorrectly. (43mph in a 70mph zone, etc)
I know this was due to them being loaded incorrectly but having no backup discs from the previous employee, I downloaded POI loader from Garmin and removed them.
I downloaded the speed zoned csv and bmp files and used POI loader to install them.
After browsing the folders on my Nuvi after, I cannot see the bmp's loaded. Is this something I do manually or have they been converted into a file?
How can I confirm that all the locations have loaded succesfully without driving around a for a few days and checking?
Many thanks

You either use an unzipping program, or if you have Windows XP, just double click it and it does it by magic. _________________ Dennis
