Backlight switches off with TomTom 5.21

When I start TomTom, the backlight switches off. When I exit, the backlight comes back on.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I got round this problem with 5.1 but the fix doesn't work with 5.21.

Sorry, but can someone explain the fix a bit better - I have xvi32, but what exactly am I meant to be changing with the hex editor?
