Hi All,
Brand new to your forum. Thanks for having me.
First off, I should mention I am in the U.S. I know this is more of a Europeon based forum, but I couldn't find a similarly knowledgable site for the US. (If you happen to know of one, please let me know )
I'm in the market for my first GPS for my car. Really just something quite basic, but is accurate. My requirements are that it have a touch screen, audio that comes from the unit, not the cord, and has updated maps.
The three that I'm considering right now are:
1. Navman iCN510 or iCN520 ($319, and $399 respectively)
2. Garmin c320 ($399)
3. Garmin 1610 ($550)
I would appreciate any advice or comments you may have on these units. Also, I'm not quite clear on the difference between the 510 and 520 (Which is better, and has fewer problems?)
Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you aware there are many more (and better) devices to choose from?
i3
nüvi
TomTom GO 700
etc.
What are your selection criteria? _________________ Lutz

Hi lbendlin,
Thanks for your response.
I'm aware that there are better devices to choose from, however cost is a very important factor in my decision process. Specifically, both the nuvi and the Tomtom Go 700 are out of my price range (I'm looking for something below $400.
Also, one of my criteria is that the unit have a touchscreen. I believe the i3 does not have that feature. Is that correct? I was also under the impression that the i3 was a lesser version of the c320 in terms of features. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
So based on my criteria, I believed that really the c320 or the Navman 510/520 were my best options. I am definitely open to new suggestions though.
Thanks to everyone for their input.

one thing i heard about the garmin 320 is that the sd card isnt very big that comes with it. you might want to consider that with your purchase. |
