Technical & Ethical Question

Dear Group, a collegue of mine has a TT Go300 which he recently bought with the latest map version installed. His employer has now provided a company car with Satnav installed so he wants to sell his TT.

He has offered to make me a copy of his SD card so that i may have the latest version maps. Is this quiet legal or does it breach a coptright law?

Apart from that, if the maps are installed on his TT wouldn't they fail to register on mine?

A copy is illegal. He is licensed to use his maps on his GO.

If you get a copy, it might work, and/or you may be asked for an activation code. You get this from the TomTom site. If he has already used the activation code, you won't get one.

If you get a code and use it you will link those maps to your GO. When he comes to upgrade, copy or do anything that needs a code, his GO will not work until he buys a brand new map.
