Palm conversion tools

I've noticed that there seem to be lots of freeware/shareware tools out there for PocketPC and PC, but not a lot for the Palm OS.

What I would like to be able to do is to take OSGB coordinates off an Ordnance Survey map, convert them to a WGS84 Lat/Long that TT5 Navigator will undersand and then edit an Itinerary file to add the coordinates into the file - all natively on the Palm, as I don't want to carry a laptop around with me!

I've searched on Cnet and Tucows, but can't find the tools to do it.

GPScalc comes close to doing the first half, but doesn't seem to support OSGB (or at least Version 1.9 doesn't).

Oddly, I've found nothing that seems to do the second (easiest) part - editing a text file named ??????.iti on the Palm.

Any Palm owners out there who know how to do this?

Thanks TazUK, I'll give that a try. Presumably I just need to add an association between a .iti extension and a text file - I'll have a play with their trial version.

Any other suggestions on what to use for the harder part - a conversion (on the Palm) from OSGB to WGS84???

Wow - that's impressive. For a free program, MIMEE is pretty comprehensive!

I must admit I don't know the difference between the datum commonly referred to as 'OSGB' and the five variants of OSGB36 that MIMEE has in its database. All five show minor offsets when compared to whatever datum streetmap.co.uk uses for it's conversions, but it's easily good enough for my needs.

One further finding:

Though the Resco Explorer utility that TazUK pointed out does the job of editing the temporary.iti file just fine, SiEd is a much simpler text editor that will also do it (and has the benefit of being freeware).

So if like me you want to be able to read coordinates off a map, convert them to the WGS84 lat/long format that TomTom likes and then enter them as a route in temporary.iti, the following two ~should~ do the trick:

Mimee (as suggested by Taz):

Not exactly an elegant solution, but at least you can do it all on the Palm if you need to...

Incidentally, I've tested it and it seems reasonably accurate for my home location. Further testing will have to wait until the weather gets a bit better.
