mapsource .img with pocketpc???

Hi, I have a mapsource (.img) map file and I want to know if there is a way to export/convert it into another format that can be used in a Pocket PC software like HandMap or TomTom.
The problem here in Argentina is that all the pocket PC program are for Europe or North America, and the maps for handmap are too expensive for me. Anyone can help me??!!!

Generally it is not possible to convert map formats from one to the other, especially for street navigation programs.

You may be able to use scanned maps or hand crafted vector maps with programs like OziExplorer or DeLorme XMap. But those programs are topographical and not suited for street navigation.

I know only of two programs that can create road maps. One is the old,old Mapopolis map generator, and the other one is some russian program.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm using the OziExplorer CE with some maps, but I am trying to use the .img map because I have a very complete map and vectors maps uses less space in my flash memory.
I am not interested in street navigation, I'm only want to use the verctor map and the GPS without the street databese for autorouting.

I will read more about the mapinfo for pocket PC because I know that the GPSMapEdit let me export from the .img file to the mapinfo format.

I was looking for a program to view .img files for Turkey in PPC yesterday and found PocketMV. It may help you.
