At the moment I'm using a Navman 3000 sleeve with an Ipaq and SmartTrip software. However, I find SmartTrip's insistence on telling me the best route annoying - I'd like some way to define what route I want to take (perhaps on the PC and then download it to the Ipaq) and set the route manually this way.
This is possible only to a very limited extent using SmartTrip by using the 4 stopovers to restrict the route options SmartTrip has and is very clunky. I'd be surprised if I was the only person who wanted software like this, but I can't find anything suitable. Any ideas? I don't want to end up having to get a Garmin V when the Ipaq/Navman combo could do it so easily...
Cheers

You say you're running SmartTrip, but I presume if you have a Navman 3000 sleeve and haven't changed the software you're running SmartPath Trips ?
There are other software that allow you to do what you want to do, CoPilot Live will allow you to segment your journey creating stop overs, but you would need to pay £189.99 for the software only version which is not locked to any GPS Receiver.
There's no way of doing this in the current software you have. |

Thanks Dave, it is SmartPath Trips - my brain's been scrambed ready too many spec sheets for gps software! As far as I can see CoPilot Live is the only one which will do what I want it too - trouble is it's nearly as expensive as a secondhand Garmin V...
Cheers

GPS isn't cheap unfortunately. Especially if you want colour maps and re-routing. |
