Time to fix quite long (RBT3000 on MDAIII w/ WM2003)

Hi,

I am using an MDAIII w/ Windows Mobile 2003 and bought a RBT3000 (because of the tracking function). The set up with Win Mobile, Tom Tom and other software is fine - everything's working.

But I got an issue with the "GPS-availability". Starting the GPS receiver takes up to 30-45 minutes before the green light is flashing (got a fix).

Another problem is that the RBT needs an absolute clear view to the sky. If there are any trees, the RBT is in the middle console of my car, there are no "satellites available". Even if it is in my backpack it is not working properly, but I read articles that this should work. Esp. this is why I bought the BRT3000 with it's tracking function.

Is there anyone with similar problems?

Now I am wondering if some of my settings are not for opitmal use, since I am new to the GPS applications. Here my settings:

NMEA: activated
GGA: 1
GLL: 0
GSA: 1
GSV: 5
RMC: 1
VTG: 0
Degraded Mode: activated
Elevation Mask: 20.00
DOP Mask: GDOP 40
SBAS Mode: Disable

Could these settings be optimized? Are there any links where these abbreviations are explained in detail?
