|
|
I've used for some time a GlareStomper II visor (sometimes called a Hoodie) from a USA company. It was a good item which reduced glare in many cases and made reading the screen a lot easier. But, they can be a bit fiddly to fit and, being cloth, tend to be a bit of a floppy rabbit at times and need straigtening to look neat.
Recently I came across an ad in eBay for a Drumma plastic visor for TomTom Go from a UK company and bought one. The Drumma is neat looking; simple design; cheap; effective, simple to install/remove. After testing one for a few days I have now retired my Hoodie.
I have no interest in or association with the Drumma company. Just posting my opinion here (and other forums) of another good product available for the TomTom (which lets face it, has a 'lesser' screen for glare/reflection than some of its competitors). I consider the Drumma visor, or any visor for that matter, as a must-have accessory for TomTom users. Company's web site for anyone interested is: www.drumma.co.uk.

I have one in for review and must say I like it. It's simple, slips on and off easily and quickly and does the best job of actuallu providing shade to the screen.
I'll be bringing it along to the show this weekend along with the Piel Frama Leather case/visor is anyone wants to see them. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Exactly, fits in seconds, does the job, reasonably priced, nuff said.
There will be a full review forthcoming but its as good as it appears and well made. _________________ Darren Griffin |

@Antoeknee:
Thanks for the suggestion. Going by the interest here (and other forums) I reckon I'll be a rich man...I wish.

A PLUS of sorts for the cloth Hoodie is that you can fold it down on the TomTom (& fit into its carry case, if you want) and it will still fit under the front seat of most cars when away shopping etc. You can't do that as easily with the Drumma plastic visor 'on' but then its s-o-o easy to remove and later refit that it's not really an issue IMHO. (I actually leave the Drumma 'on' and just place the whole thing on the floor tucked up against the drivers seat. It's out of sight to the casual observer looking into the car).
In my original post I forgot to mention that when I bought the visor on eBay the company emailed me saying...
"...we have had to change our manufacturers, partly because of supply problems. The good news is that by changing suppliers we have been able to make some savings which means that the price has come down. If you can be a little patient, we will credit back the difference between your purchase price and the new price (set at £11.95). If we do not hear from you we will apply this partial refund. However if you are not happy with the delay, please email us and we will supply a full refund immediately..."
Now that's a change...a company that wants to charge you less! They promptly credited back the diff between the old (£13.95) and new price (£11.95) and a few days later I got the visor, nicely boxed, from the UK. The chap selling the Hoodies in the USA was a nice guy to correspond with (replied quickly to any query and was helpful). The customer service people at Drumma are just as good to deal with.

Also ordered one . The stomp is so fiddly to fit and you take the risk of breaking tour TT. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2699lmt
