Have a look at the color depth of the camera icons. Normally only 8 bpp are supported (256 colors), and other formats produce said red boxes. _________________ Lutz

lbendlin, Thanks for the info but I am new to this. So if it isn't a daft question - how do look at the color depth of the camera icons? Also why were they OK before I installed version 5.420 and not now? |

Hi,
I have just loaded 5.420 onto my go 300 and I now have a lot of new "bells, whistles, boings and bangs" which have overwritten all my speed camera warnings, so I would say NO your voices will NOT work after 5.420.
Have now reverted back (as I did have a current backup) and all is as before, regrettably back to 27 poi limit.

I have just updated my Tomtom Go classic with 5.42, and now it keeps locking up when tapping on the screen. Deleated card, and put 5.20 on again and all is now working OK. Perhaps this update is meant more for the new models. |

have installed it
all my old safety camera (individual speed) icons display perfect
none of the gasto etc, warning voices work with the preceding data.chk file
when i tried this is just messed up all the screen icons
so i will wait for a new data.chk file to put them back in
on the face of it - no obvious improvements for the most common tasks, but there again - they never siad there would be :D |

What is that solved problem with "Street names closest to the district header ..." ?
The only problem I know about for Belgium, and that TomTom hasn't solved, is the following :
##################
In Belgium, there are 3 spoken languages, but mainly Dutch in the north, French in the south and both in the Center (Brussels).
In the past with the first Belgium maps that were released, you had the choice to install for Belgium the "French" or "Dutch" version of the map... meaning that the street names in Brussels were correctly displayed in your language depending on your choice (French or Dutch).
With the 5 update (I think), they removed (For free) the capability of choosing the map you want, and only issued a map of Belgium with Street names in Dutch in Brussels !!!
that is not cool for French people, because navigating through "Rue de la semence", you see you are at "Zaatstraat" ... ... That is called a navigating system ...
