PDA or Dedicated Sat Nav Device, whihc is best

just a quickie....used a couple of sat nav systems. My girlfriend is buying me one for christmas........i like the TomTom 700 but i'm after something that has radar and laser detection.

What are peoples opinion?

Is it better to have a sytsem that is only for sat nav or is it better to have a PDA running sat nav software?

Is a PDA runnin the TomTom software as good as the TomTom 700 system?

Are the Road Angel systems with sat nav and radar detection any good?
