My father has just bought a gizmondo with Copilot 6. Software runs great however we cant get speed camera PIOs to display. I have downloaded the files and copied them to the right directory as stated in the instructions but nothing seems to get them to display.
Any ideas?
If not will TomTom 5.10 work on a gizmondo?
May thanks... |

Yes, TomTom should work on the Gizmondo - that's what they had used at CeBIT. _________________ Lutz

No TT won't work as the Gizmondo needs signed code. |

Not sure about Tom Tom 5.10 but I have been trying to get the Gizmondo SafetyCam database to work for a few week now to no avail, have been in touch with ALK on a few occations regarding this issue also ongoing topic on Gizmondo forum, ALK released a new updated version within the last few days but although it's possible to navigate to a camera we have not yet worked out how to make the Safetycam alerts to work.
To see the Safetycam POI's go to POI menu then "Travel and Transportation \ Speed Cameras".
Please note ALK (Copilot) get the database from this site and modify to suit.
On a similar note I have asked ALK if they could make available some facility that will allow me to create my own POI's that I can upload to unit but I am not holding my breath.
Best regards

I'd like to challenge that. The Gizmondo is a Pocket PC, not a Smartphone... There will be ways to educate the underlying CE to accept non-signed code. _________________ Lutz

Its neither Pocket PC or smartphone, its winCE 4.2 and it requires signed code. There is an ongoing attempt to allow third party software to run but its been abandoned, apparently. If you know how to get TT to run, post instructions in the Gizmondoforums.com |
