Have a look here for your options - http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=151199#151199

TT5 has an option to Warn When Near, which is in the Maintain POI section of Preferences.

You will need the OV2 files and the associated BMP file, I use the speed zoned cameras as you get a better warning with these (specific to camera type and speed) TT5 has a built in warn when near POI function so you can use that for the warning but it only beeps, bongs etc. for a far better system have a look at http://www.rayflanagan.co.uk/ and go for the real voice warnings (the instructions are on the site), before you leap ahead and do any of this back up the device so you can easily return to a stable known platform if it goes wrong - Mike

Is this the right place. i have tried to look this up using tt5 but only finds the normal POI's like golf courses etc. where should i put them and what should the folder name be. I have a file in the great britain map-plus called poi.dat is this normal?

The .OV2 and corresponding .BMP files need to be placed into the great britain map folder on the SD card - don't copy them as a folder they need to exist as single standalone files in this folder, then TT should be able to find them - Mike

Yes. It's the built-in POI file. It might contain other information as well.

Yes. In Windows Explorer drag the csv files to a program called Makeov2.exe.

You can download it from http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/oldboy/TomTomPOI/
