External GPS receiver to laptop

I have a Mitac Mio 168, which came with an external GPS receiver as an extra. Is it possible to connect this to a laptop with some kind of adapter, and if so what do I need?

What kind of external GPS receiver? I think you only got an external antenna - that one is useless by itself, it needs to be plugged into a GPS receiver

You're right - I just checked the box and it says "external antenna" not receiver. I didn't realise there was a difference. Thanks.
