Heya guys I am getting really annoyed with my GPS receiver crapping out on me and I was wondering if there was a GPS Receiver that takes normal standard AA/AAA or any type of battery (I would prefer Rechargable) that can be changed manually ?

If you look at the reviews on this site or at www.gpspassion.com you'll see that there are several that take replacement batteries. There is a comparative review of GPS receivers at GPSPassion that shows which ones have replaceable batteries and what type of batteries they take.[/url]

The Tomtom MkI did not have a replaceable battery, and the MkII doesn't either by the look of it: http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=157&page=2

However, why restrict your choice by sticking to AA/AAA rechargeable types? I've just bought a Holux GPSlim 236 which has a user replaceable Li-ion rechargeable battery (which just happens to be compatible with a Nokia BL-5C which are widely available and inexpensive).

It is a mighty fine bit of kit IMHO, far far better than my MkI Tomtom receiver. :D
