Will Tomtom 5 install on GARMIN IQUE M5?

As the title?
Is the Garmin ique M5 primarily a pda with integrated gps and will it run most gps software on its windows os?

I would be wary, I seem to recall the M5's GPS only outputting data in Garmin's proprietary format so 3rd party apps would need to be able to interpret that. TomTom and most other commercial navigation apps cannot. They require the industry standard NMEA format for position data.

Will the Mitac Mio 168 take any version of gps software i.e. tomtom / destinator etc? Any other soution that is better?

Why do you want one with a built-in GPS? Personally I would get a decent PDA with the spec you require and a Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Just thought cheaper and less cables. primarily it will be only used for tomtom and the only reason i don’t go tomtom go is so i can use destinator or other software if i want to.

Plus cheaper

The problem with all in ones is if your car has a coated windscreen, then they won't work without an external antenna.

does the mio not come with an external areal for that purpose?

It does from some sellers and not from others but its another cable.

As a newbie then that wants a good resonable solution that can run tomtom or destinator with the option to run US software with out going mad cost wise?

Would it be worth waiting for the new MIO A201?
