|
Having received my new o2 Exec PDA last week I've now started to investigate some of the new functionallity ie the new Windows Mobile 2005 GPS Support. Supposidly this provides the abillity to share a single GPS stream to many different applications.
Has anyone else had a play with this, and have they managed to get TT V5 to recognise the virtual COM port. TT happily sees the real port but fails to communicate on the virtual port.
I'm aware that TT do not support WM 2005 yet, I'm still waiting for them to fix WM 2003 .... just keeping them on their toes.... |

Not sure if I've understood correctly, I've already modified the registry to unhide the GPS tool, is there another registry setting needed? |

...well I'm running a Dell x51v and it has WM5.
Did not need to do any reg-hack to reveal the GPS tool. It was there from the begining.
At first I ran TT using the WM5 GPS-sharing and it worked. There were some issues though.
I first needed to start TT and then change to GPSViewer and toggle the open and close button, return to TT and voila it worked.
It seemed that TT could not open the com-port by itself.
...then "jonburg" informed me http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=156699#156699 that if I did NOT use the GPS-sharing it would work better...and it did, THANX "jonburg".
Now I run TT against com7 directly and it's working great.
