TomTom map or software Updates Blocking Posket Alerts?

I Want new car GPS and will subscribe Pocket data base when bought. If I find a TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition 1 or XXL IQ Routes (preferably with Europe), will it still be compatible with pocket alerts and do I have to avoid getting TomTom software updates or maps or mapshare in order to use Pocket Alerts? Could Darren or someone confirm please? JockB

As long as you get a TomTom without a small number 2 in the device name or the TomTom Start it will work fine with the Speed Camera Database offered by this site - Mike

... and you don't need to avoid getting any updates.
They will still work with any new maps with or without Mapshare updates and TT wouldn't dare remove third party POI support from existing units, there would be an enormous outcry (In fact they have just started an update to restore that function to the new models of XL that didn't have it).
