Did it work?

In most Garmin GPS units the uploadable maps have an unlock key that goes with them and they need to be activated to work on a particular GPS unit (based on it's serial number).

If you own City Select then you can get it activated to work on up to two GPS units that you own.

Nikatina - you have to load the maps on to a transflash card via the i3 unit you'll be using. The software gets registered to that unit. You can use the CitySelect software with 2 Garmin GPS units though, so if your friend has only 1 unit you may be able to load it onto yours as well.

Look at this thread
http://pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=27248&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=240 [5th post down] which quotes from Garmin's website & may clarify the situation - or make it as clear as mud! Confused
