Can anyone advise on running TT5 with tchart and gps gate.
I have a ipaq 2210 with TTBT gps and TT5. I then added tchart, but could not get tchart to run as I could not connect to the TTbt gps. TT5 seemed unable to share. I then added gps gate, but cannot configure correctly to enable both TT5 anf tchart to run. I have tried setting gps gate with the input to com 5 and com 8 at 4800 baud rate withe the virtual port being com 7, but no luck. Does anyone run this set up and can advise on the correct configuration.

Thanks Robbins

There is a help forum at www.franson.com that will help but basically you need to

exit TTN5 completly.
Run GPSgate
Settings
Select the com port you GPS in on (may have to tap close if the com port is greyed out & you need to change it)
add virtual port (i.e. com 5, for TTN5)
add virtual port (i.e. com 6, for Tchart)
ok

Then leave gps running, icon shows on Today screen in bottom right corner. (there is also a 'restart on soft reset' setting, tick this)
start TTN5 & go the the gps setup, select com 5 as the gps input.
exit TTN5
Start Tchart, go to the gps setup & select com 6, exit tchart.

Then you should be able to use either TTN5 or tchart seperately. You should also be able to use both of them together.

Add extra virtual ports as required (for Memory Map etc.)

I have used all three together with no problems.

Hi there
Agree with the advice above, though on my version of GPS Gate downloaded a few months ago there's no need to have several virtual output ports - I just have one input and one virtual output, and connect all my applications concurrently to that one virtual output port. Makes life a little easier setting them all up and spotting any mistakes!
Best wishes

Barryd

You are correct, I only need one virtual port. I assumed that as only one program could access one com port at a time then only one program would be able to access one virtual port at the same time but this is not the case.

I have set up my Mio for MM, TTN5 & Tchart to use virtual port com 5 & all three run happily together.

Hi

What input do you use. Should I use Com 5, Com 8 or TTGPS.

I cannot stop TT from keep starting.

Not sure of the GPS input the Ipaq uses but set GPSgate to use the GPS input that Tomtom was connected to (as this is the physical com port for the Ipaq setup). Then create a virtual com port (anyone will do but I use com5). Configure all GPS based programs to use com5 (or set coms5 to whatever if necessary) and every program should work.
