Dell AXIM X5 compatability?

Has anybody got a Dell Axim X5 working with SmartST V3? If so, I'd like to know how and using which SD cards.

Mine works fine, including Speed camera alerts, when Voice Guidance is disabled but when Voice Guidance is enabled it siezes up (see previous post) [/url]http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=24311

My configuration is - Viking 66x 512M SD memory and Safecom (Ebuyer) CF GPS module.

Navman firstly started off by saying X5s are incompatable, then agreed they were after I pointed out the compatability list on their website, then they suggested Sandisk or Danelec SD cards and, when I asked which SD cards, they went back to saying X5s are incompatible again.

I have found the answer to my problem (from a post on the Aximsite) and am posting it back here in case others find it useful.

On a Dell Axim, the Audio Driver patch V1.0 interferes with Navman and many other applications. The only way to remove the patch is a hard reset and rebuild from scratch.

Once removed, Navman and the Axim behaves perfectly.

On a similar thread, TomTom 5 and the Axim X5, you need to uncheck "link volume to speed" to get the voice to work reliably.
