It's not listed by TomTom as a supported device, and neither is the Qtek 8100 which is essentially the same SmartPhone - they have a different screen resolution to the C500, SP3 etc so perhaps it's going to take a patch to make it compatible at a later date?

For anyone that is thinking of upgrading to the C550 just to let you know that Tom Tom does not work on it. Screen resolution is to big. As suggested a patch may become available, but knowing Tom Tom god only knows when that will be. |

ok darren this is what you need to do
first off you need to have mobile registry editor on the phone.
or a decent registry editor.
1. Open the reg editor and go to HKLM and select drivers
2. Then select display and open that
3.Your are then faced with GPE open that
4. Then select Values from the menu and open it
5.select Logical pixels X
6. Select Value data and alter it to 138 select done
7. Select Logical pixels Y and also alter value data to 138
select done and switch off the phone
Restart the phone
You should now see useable menus not to different from before but now in the interim Tom Tom should be very useable
HOpe it works for you as it has for me
Regards

No, he is referring to the 'Application Unlock' which is different. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

No the phone has to be application unlocked. It seems to come preset with the ability to use some programs and not others. So it has t be application unlocked in order to be able to use the regsitry edit program, otherwise you cant change the values. The unlock is normally straight forward to do via the Orange Web site. |

Don't forget while this works, you are also turning the C550 into a C500 with a few extra buttons, also this will alter the display until you alter the registry again. So you would need to alter the registry back and forth every time to still get the best out of the phone and use TomTom as well.
This has been discussed in more detail here
