Upgrading the BT stack on XDAII

Can anybody help, I'm trying to use my XDAII with my laptop to establish a dial up network connection via a Belkin Bluetooth USB.
I've searched forums & most of them suggest using Widcomm Bluetooth stack to enable this.

My questions are:

a) will this work (I suppose only XDA users can answer this)
b) if it does work will it mess up my bluetooth connections to my BT338??
