I had problems with mine at the best I get now is to confirm connection each time I start TT

Using TT5.10

Turn BT on
Pair the bluetooth GPS and IPAQ in BT Manager (paired devices/add)
Start TT
Turn on GPS
Says No GPS Device
In preferences /showGPS status/configure, choose other BT GPS
Press continue
Select first BT Serial Port in list (port8)

Should then be ok.

Each time I start TT it then finds no gps, goes to BT Console where double click TT GPS, wait 5 seconds and ok.

What version of Windows are you using on the 5450 ? I'm using the 2003 upgrade and there is a bluetooth driver update for it which has solved all my bluetooth problems.

I paired the receiver with the iPaq and then connect using BT Serial Port 8.

t_rifles: the "no gps device" issue is a *cough* feature, it should say "no gps fix" if you leave it on the screen for 10-15 seconds it will get the fix and work ok without the need to go into the configuration screen.

try the page on TomTom, go to product support and look at the question, How to manually configure TomTom NAVIGATOR 5 for Bluetooth GPS receivers. According to tomtom you should be using com 8, but all the instructions are there.

It's an update from HP for the iPaq if your running PC2003 - Link

Does the reciever show up OK in the Bluetooth Manager and can you get a connection to it from there ?

Same here, although for me it was the same with TT3. It would be useful if TT5 started up the bluetooth connection, in the same way TT5 now closes the connection on exit.

On my setup TTN 5.10 does start and close the bluetooth connection. I have TT5 assigned to a hardware button and one press gets me going if I'm using my BT receiver.

I haven't tried that. Do you build up the applications that need to be started, like a schedule....turn on bluetooth/connect to device/start TT5..?

Nope. As long as you've already set up the bluetooth receiver in TTN 5.10, it remembers the configuration the next time. It will shut down bluetooth. Next time you turn on TT5 by pressing the hardware button, it opens up TT5, turn on bluetooth, and connect to the receiver.

As I said, 1 press of a button and you're away.....
