Andy,
Hope this makes sense to you

The following files should be in a directory on your pc (lets assume it’s C:\voice )
Viftool.exe,
w9xpopen.exe,
python23.dll,
_sre.pyd,
zlib.pyd
library.zip

Copy all 59 ogg files into the same directory

Open up a dos prompt ( goto run and type cmd )

Type cd c:\voice the prompt changes to c:\voice>

Type viftool join 99 andy data99.vif

This should produce two files in the same directory data99.chk and data99.vif

Don't know what the tomtom chk\vif viftool is but lets try again.
You have a folder on C drive called voices.........Yes ?.
In this folder are the viftools listed above and the 59 ogg files........Yes ?
They should not be in another folder....you can see all these files when you open the voices folder......yes

Open up the command prompt display will show something like
C:\documents and setting..........>
Type cd c:\voices display shows C:\voices>
Type viftool join 99 andy data.99

Andy fancy a laugh ?

Extracted yoda voice using poi patcher. renamed AhLefturn to AhLeftTurn
Built voice using viftool but using the arrive.ogg sent to you last night.

Tested on TTgo all silent execpt for the arrive prompt ?

I've just lost the last little bit of hair I had left.
Leave it with me and I'll get back to you later.

Laughing Out Loud ray thats weird! Confused. how come you renamed the AhLefturn file? was it just to see what would happen. if i try to use viftool it says entry #0 "After.ogg" [natch] is missing, but it's not, when i use poi it compiles the voice, it works but not with my "arrive.ogg" but with another "arrive.ogg" from a differant voice!! like yoda would say "at the end of the road"and then andy siddle would say "you have reached your destanation". dunno whats happnin'.

Dave,
Have you sorted it ?

My Findings from the other night are

Using Vif Tool
If I extract the ogg files using viftool split dataxx.vif it appears to extract the ogg files but it does not. The ogg files are raw pcm, that’s what adobe is telling me.
So extracting a voice then changing one voice prompt (arrive.ogg) and rebuilding gave me that strange result of only the arrive being heard.
All the ogg files were invalid except the one I changed.
I've downloaded viftools again still no joy with the extraction. Anybody aware of files external to the viftools causing a problem ?.

Poi Patcher.
If I extract and build with poi patcher no problems.
If I extract with poi patcher and build with viftools, the .chk and vif tools are produced but the voice is silent ?
Checked the ogg files poi patcher extracts and they are ok.

Conclusion.
If I'm building a voice from scratch I can use viftools or poi patcher.
If I need to extract and then rebuild I have to use poi patcher.
