|
|
OK, I'm trying to get a handle on this POI thing. My understanding is that TomTom's (using 5.10) POIs are kept in an .OV2 file, yes? Well, when I search for such a file on my Axim, all that comes up is a 1k file that has one local. Now, there are literally hundreds of POIs I can navigate to, so where are they?! Apparently, not in an .OV2 file, eh? I've found all my favorites in the .CFG file, but that's about it. I am playing with POI Edit and would like to use it to add to TT, but as you can see, I'm stumped. Help? TIA! |

The pois that come preinstalled are in a file called poi.dat. you can't edit it though.
You can add your own pois in the ov2 format and a bmp file with a matching name just put them in your map folder. _________________ Ray

Ah, I see. Do the POIs that end up in the .OV2 file somehow integrate with those in the .DAT file, or are they just kept as favorites? Thanks. |

The TT POI facility has the ability!! to understand the POI.dat and the added .ov2 files. They are not intergrated into 1 great file they just co-exist. _________________ Richard

Yes, I have POI Edit (see my OP), but using it in some intelligent way is what I'm stuggling with. A tutorial on all this would be nice. Anyone know of such a thing? |
